Language
school in Verona, Italy (Feb 2007)
I
have been advised to talk to you by one of your ex-students who
did the TEFL course with your school last September. His name
is Ron and he is now working successfully as an ESL teacher here
in Verona. I am currently on the lookout for new teachers and
I understand that your institute offers TEFL courses on a monthly
basis. I was therefore wondering if you would be so kind as to
place this notice in your school for future teachers who would
be interested to find work in Italy.
I
am enclosing a poster with my details and the teachers would be
free to contact me by phone or by mail. Thanking you in advance
for your help.

I
have great news as just yesterday I was offered a job in Tarragona,
Spain. It is located 60 miles south of Barcelona in the Catalonian
area of Spain where they speak Catalan (a mixture of Spanish and
French). It's amazing. I really lucked out! So, as you have noticed,
I will not be teaching in Prague. I finish my TESOL training this
Friday and I do want to work on my Spanish so that'll be more
realistic if I stay in Spain. I am hoping to be able to take a
quick trip up to Prague sometime during the school year or over
the summer (I will have a short summer as the school year doesn't
end until June 21 or 22).
I'm
off to Tarragona on Saturday, by train so I can meet with the
director, see the school, and prepare myself for the first week.
Classes begin Monday!!! I will be teaching children (beginning
at age 7 or 8) up to business adults. It will be quite the range.
I told the director that even though I've mainly taught teenagers,
they acted like children at times. Un beso, Jessica

I
am happy to say that I took the course here in Firenze, with the
intent to stay, and I have been able to do just that! I got a
job at Instituto Americano, teaching between 20-27 hours a week.
