Teaching English, Learning Italian & Internships In Florence

Course Accommodation: 390-550 Euros

As the course is very intensive, it is very important that your accommodation is comfortable, easy to reach and allows you to study at home if you want to. In Florence we are able to offer a variety of options booked through our local housing agents. Accommodation options include shared trainee flats, Italian Homestay or self arranged accommodation.

Details & Availability

Your accommodation is available for 28 nights ( from the Sunday before the first day of the course to the Saturday after the last day of the course ). We can often allow trainees to move into the accommodation a few days early, or stay a few days after, but we cannot guarantee it. If you would like to know if you can arrive early or leave late please ask the housing coordinator before you make any travel plans and we will confirm availability in writing. These are the housing options:
  • A private room in an apartment with other students from TEFL course or local schools. Some of our apartments are also rented by Italian students who attend the Universita’ degli Studi di Firenze who would be delighted to share their apartment with a visiting student. You will have your own room, so you’ll have your privacy, but at the same time you’ll be able to enjoy a “real” Florentine student’s life.
  • A shared room in Florence. This is also a popular option—especially if you are coming to take the course with a friend or spouse. You will have a single bed in a shared room in the city. All apartments are furnished, and conveniently located in the city. This is also a good way to get to know another student in the area. TEFL students will most likely be rooming together in this option, so you’ll have someone with whom to discuss your lesson planning ideas or just go and explore the city!
  • Home-stay - This option is for those who really want to experience the Italian lifestyle! While you will usually be very busy preparing lessons and teaching, you will have the chance to go home and eat an authentic Italian dinner nightly with your host family. If you have some knowledge of Italian or are interested in learning, this is a great opportunity!

Flats and home-stays are all easily accessible via public transport and travelling time to and from the school is no more than thirty minutes. Flats are fully functional and well equipped to European standards. The flats include a kitchen, living area and fully-equipped bathroom and WC. Bedrooms are furnished with a single or double bed, chair, clothes-closet and bedside table. Some rooms may include study desks or there are common study areas. There are also other essential household items and in most cases a washing machine, but dryers are rare. Blankets and sheets are provided, but bath towels are not. Flatmates determine the smoking rules among themselves.

You can stay in school accommodation for the duration of your TEFL course and then move into Homestay accommodation, if you wish to combine it with an Italian course + Internship before or after the TEFL course.

Arranging Accommodation Yourself

Of course, trainees are free to arrange their own accommodation and there is a lot of information available on the Internet. If we can help in any way, by making reservations, paying deposits or so on, we will be happy to do so.
