Housing:
As the TEFL course is very intensive, it is very important that your accommodation is comfortable, easy to reach and allows you to study at home if you want to. You are welcome to arrange your own housing, but for those who need assistance, your TEFL course staff will provide an optional accommodation service to all who request it. Rooms and amenities are up to the expected standard before allocating them.
Prices for the different types of accommodation will obviously vary but the following are guidelines of the sort of prices you will have to pay for a month. When the course director contacts you after you have completed the application form he will discuss the different options with you.
I. A Home Stay - The least expensive option is a private bedroom in a local residence. This home stay costs approximately 60 - 150 pounds per week. You can generally arrive on the Saturday or Sunday before the course starts and leave at the weekend of the last week. This rate is for private bedroom only.
II. Student Residences - These are basic but clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms are shared with other students. Depending on the residence, you may choose either a single room or, if you are coming with a friend, a twin room. Some of our residences offer breakfast or evening meal, and others are self-catering. Prices are generally between 20 - 30 pounds per night.
III. A Hotel, Appartment Or Guesthouse (Bed & Breakfast) - Prices range from 100 - 300 pounds per week as a starting point. It should be possible to arrange a discount rate for the whole month. A 3-star hotel can be as much as 600-700 pounds per week.
